A serious aviation incident occurred in Fort Bend County, Texas. A light aircraft, a Piper J3C-65, made a hard landing directly onto the roof of a private home in the community of Fulshear.
The accident happened on Monday, July 20, 2026, at approximately 06:45 local time. Preliminary data suggests the pilot was attempting to land at a local private airfield with a dirt runway in the Covey Trails area but lost altitude and collided with the residential structure.
Consequences and Rescue Operations
The impact caused significant damage to the aircraft's fuselage and wings. Due to a leak of aviation fuel, rescuers were forced to preemptively cut power to the building to prevent a fire. The pilot was extricated from the cockpit and hospitalized with injuries. Fortunately, the residents of the house, who were inside at the time of the collision, were unharmed.
