On the night of Saturday, November 7, PrivatBank will carry out scheduled system updates. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the financial institution's press service, clients will not be able to use the main services for several hours. The restrictions are temporary and related to technical work which, according to the bank, is necessary for the stable operation of services in the future.

When and What Will Be Unavailable

According to the press service, the work is scheduled for the period from 00:05 to 06:30. It is during this window, the bank specified, that scheduled system update measures will be carried out. The statement emphasizes that their goal is to ensure that services «continue to work quickly and without glitches». The specific list of unavailable functions is not disclosed in the public message; it refers to main services, while transfers and payments are highlighted separately in the bank's recommendations to clients.

Why Work Is Carried Out at Night

PrivatBank explained the choice of nighttime by the logic of minimizing inconvenience for users. «We do such work at night when activity is lower,» the statement reads. That is why the bank recommends that clients do not postpone important operations: transfers and payments are best arranged in advance, before the work begins, or after 06:30, when the services return to normal mode. Thus, the financial institution actually urges planning financial operations taking into account the pre-announced maintenance window.

Context: Legal Dispute with Former Owners

The announcement of technical work came against the backdrop of another resonant story related to the bank's history. Recall that the former owners of PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholyubov, finally lost the court case in Britain. Following the proceedings, they are obliged to pay the financial institution over $3 billion. This episode remains one of the loudest in the history of the Ukrainian banking sector and emphasizes the scale of assets currently managed by the bank.

Exchange Rates on the Day of the Announcement

As a guide for clients who need to arrange transfers or payments before the work begins, it is worth considering the current exchange rates. According to the announcement day, the average dollar exchange rate in exchange offices for purchase is 46.30 hryvnias (a change of −12 kopecks), and currency can be sold for 46.05 hryvnias (−15 kopecks). Euros are sold in exchange offices at an average rate of 52 hryvnias (−15 kopecks), and can be sold for 51.70 hryvnias (−10 kopecks). These figures give an idea of the conditions under which clients will plan their operations ahead of the technical window.

The conclusion is a simple recommendation: if transfers or payments via PrivatBank services are planned for the coming day, it is advisable to complete them before 00:05 on Saturday or after 06:30. Scheduled work, as the bank assures, is aimed at increasing the reliability and speed of services, while temporary restrictions are targeted and announced in advance.
