On Wednesday, October 28, a steady increase in the price of the American currency was recorded on the cash currency market of Ukraine. The dollar is gaining value both in exchange offices and at the cash desks of most commercial banks, while the dynamics of the euro remain mixed: in some settlement channels the European currency is getting cheaper, while in others it is rising in price. According to the Minfin portal, by the morning of October 28, the average dollar exchange rate in exchange offices was 46.30 UAH for purchase and 46.00 UAH for sale, which is 20 kopecks higher than the previous day's figure.
Average Rates in Exchange Offices
In the exchange bureau segment, the dollar continues its confident growth: the average purchase price of the American currency rose to 46.30 UAH (+20 kop.), and sale to 46.00 UAH (+20 kop.). The euro in exchange offices demonstrates more moderate dynamics: the European currency can be bought at an average rate of 51.75 UAH (+5 kop.), and sold at 51.35 UAH (unchanged). Rates in Commercial Banks
In the banking segment, the dollar is also rising in price, albeit more moderately. The average purchase rate of the dollar in banks is 45.98 UAH (+3 kop.), sale — 45.38 UAH (+8 kop.). Context: Dollar Renews Maximums Throughout October
The current appreciation of the dollar is a continuation of a multi-day trend. Back on October 5, the National Bank set the official exchange rate of the American currency at 44.98 UAH, on October 6 at 45.06 UAH, and by the middle of the month the dollar reached new record highs. According to GLOBUS BANK analysts, announced at the beginning of the month, in the first decade of the month the dollar could trade on the interbank market in the range of 44.7–45.1 UAH, but the actual dynamics exceeded these forecasts. By October 28, the gap between the official NBU rate and the average rate in exchange offices has significantly increased, which is typical for a period of increased demand for cash currency.
