On September 14, the dollar at Ukrainian exchange offices and banks holds below 45 hryvnia, while the euro has crossed the 52-hryvnia mark. We break down the current rates at PrivatBank, Oschadbank, Monobank, and PUMB.

According to Globus Bank's forecast, on September 14–20 the dollar on Ukraine's cash market will be worth 44.5–45 UAH, and the euro — 51–52.5 UAH. The NBU may spend up to 1 billion dollars on interventions, while "war inflation" may push prices on certain goods up by 10%.

The National Bank of Ukraine set the dollar rate at 44.46 UAH and the euro at 51.68 UAH for September 8: both currencies fell by 10 kopecks. Experts do not expect sharp fluctuations in the cash market.

The NBU has published a draft of amendments to the rules for banks' cash operations ahead of the introduction into circulation on September 4, 2026, of a new 2,000-hryvnia banknote featuring the portrait of Vasyl Stus. The amendments concern uniform requirements for the packaging of cash and will not require additional expenditures.

AUB Vice President Serhiy Mamedov calculated that at a rate of 17.5% per annum, a hryvnia deposit of 100,000 UAH will yield about 6.7% net income in six months, while for parity the dollar must rise from 45 to 48 UAH. The expert advises diversifying savings.

The NBU's currency restrictions, in force since February 2022, have created a distortion: a Ukrainian resident cannot invest its own foreign-currency revenue abroad, while a company with a foreign holding does so through dividends. Experts propose introducing a controlled expansion limit.

The NBU set the dollar rate at 44.70 UAH (+5 kopecks) and the euro fell to 52.15 UAH (-9 kopecks) for August 25. Experts do not expect sharp fluctuations in the currency market in the coming days.

Taras Lesovoy, an expert at Globus Bank, named four factors that will intensify pressure on Ukraine's foreign exchange market in September: imports, fuel, military risks, and inflation. The forecast dollar rate is 44.7–45.4 UAH.
