July 2026 became the month with the most significant losses in manpower for the Russian army since the beginning of the current year. According to official data published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy lost almost 43,000 servicemen in just one month.
These figures, cited by RBC-Ukraine from the General Staff's Telegram channel, indicate an escalation of the situation on the front. The monthly dynamics show that the intensity of hostilities has led to unprecedented losses for this year.
Statistics for seven months
The General Staff clarified that in total, during the first seven months of 2026, the personnel losses of the Russian army amounted to 238,650 people. Such a volume of losses for the half-year underscores the scale and severity of the military clashes continuing on the territory of Ukraine.
General context of the conflict
These data fit into the general picture of losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. A few days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia has lost a total of about 1.6 million military personnel during the war. According to him, approximately 700,000 of them have been killed.
Earlier, back in January 2026, the media reported that Russia's losses had reached 1.2 million soldiers. Experts noted that this figure already exceeded the losses in any war since World War II, making the current figures for July 2026 even more indicative in the context of the duration and ferocity of the conflict.
