The Odesa region has once again become the target of a massive attack. As a result of the strike on civilian infrastructure and residential districts, people have died, and buildings and cars have been damaged. The situation remains tense: rescuers continue searching under the rubble.
Strike on the amusement park
One of the targets of the attack was the territory of an amusement park. According to Oleksandr Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, an enemy rocket hit the area where fishing cabins are located. As a result of the explosion, they were destroyed, and six passenger cars were damaged.
Preliminary data indicates that two people died in this incident. Four others were injured — among the victims is a child. Rescue operations are ongoing: people requiring urgent assistance may still be trapped under the rubble.
Consequences in other settlements
The amusement park was not the only target. Consequences of the attack were also recorded in another settlement of the region: a residential building and two cars were damaged. One person was injured and hospitalized.
Specialized services — the State Emergency Service, medical personnel, and police — are working at all impact sites. They are assessing the scale of destruction and providing aid to the victims. The full picture of the consequences is not yet known.
Situation in the region
Throughout the day, Odesa was under shelling. In the morning on July 18, Russia struck the port infrastructure of the region. In the waters of the Black Sea, a foreign merchant vessel flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda was attacked.
Additionally, during the day, a drone fell in the region, damaging a truck. The driver suffered shrapnel wounds. These incidents indicate high tension in the region and ongoing military hostilities.
