In the night of November 4, 2026, the Armed Forces of Russia launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine using 310 strike unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. According to the Air Force, air defense forces neutralized the vast majority of targets; however, the air attack was not completely repelled by morning, and combat work to intercept the remaining drones continued.

Scale and Directions of the Attack

Drone launches, according to the Air Force, were carried out from several directions: Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea. The use of hundreds of devices in a single night confirms the established practice of massive UAV attacks, which in 2026 became a regular element of the conflict: on the night of October 17, the Air Force recorded 332 drones, and on the night of September 18, according to Moscow authorities, more than 350 devices flew toward the Moscow region.

Air Defense Operations

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, were involved in repelling the air attack. According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on November 4, air defense neutralized 272 enemy drones.

Ground Consequences

Impacts of air attack weapons were recorded in 19 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in another 15 places. Among the consequences is a large-scale power outage in Kovel, where most of the city was left without electricity after an infrastructure strike. Earlier, it was reported that Rivne, the Ternopil region, and Dnipro came under a new Russian strike the previous night.

Operation Continues

As of the morning of November 4, more than 20 strike drones, according to the Air Force, were still in airspace, and combat work to intercept them continued. The final results of the attack, including the exact number of downed targets and the full list of consequences, will be updated as the work of the air defense forces concludes.
