Russian forces have continued a series of massive attacks on the Ukrainian capital, launching another strike against the Desnyanskyi district of Kyiv. As a result of the hostile attack, a direct hit and subsequent fire were recorded in a multi-story residential building, prompting the emergency mobilization of all municipal services.

Details of the Evening Incident in Desnyanskyi District

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko in his official Telegram channel, a 12-story residential building became the target of the attack. Fire and structural damage were recorded at the level of the tenth floor of the building. Crews from the State Emergency Service, ambulance brigades, and representatives of other emergency agencies promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and rescue people.

Rescuers continue to work at the scene in an enhanced mode, assessing the structural stability of the building and carrying out necessary search-and-rescue operations.

Escalation of Attacks on the Ukrainian Capital on October 7

It is worth noting that the current day, October 7, 2026, has been marked by a series of heavy and continuous shellings of Kyiv. Earlier during the day, Russian occupants repeatedly attacked the capital using various types of weaponry. In particular, an evening strike on the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv resulted in the death of one person, while at least five other local residents sustained injuries of varying severity.

Furthermore, during the day, the fall of wreckage from a hostile drone sparked a fire in a 5-story residential building in another part of the city. The situation is complicated by the fact that the Ukrainian capital had also faced a nighttime massive combined attack, during which air defense forces repelled strikes by Iskander and KN-23 ballistic missiles, as well as numerous attack UAVs.
