The troops of the Russian Federation launched another cynical airstrike on residential neighborhoods in Kharkiv, targeting two densely populated districts of the city simultaneously. According to local authorities, the enemy bombardment caused significant damage to residential infrastructure, resulting in human casualties and injuries, including minor children.

Timeline of Strikes and Destruction

On the afternoon of October 2, 2026, enemy aviation used guided aerial bombs (KABs) that struck the Slobidskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts of the city. According to Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the first explosions rang out mid-day, after which all specialized emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scenes.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov specified that the strikes hit the private residential sector directly. As a result of a direct hit, one residential house was completely destroyed to the ground. According to preliminary operational data, people could be trapped under the rubble, requiring a complex search and rescue operation.

It is worth noting that Kharkiv remains a constant target for enemy shelling. Shortly before this incident, the city suffered attacks by enemy drones and night KAB strikes on the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, injuring over two dozen people.
