Russia carried out yet another attack on Kropyvnytskyi, hitting a critical infrastructure facility in the city. This was reported by Andrii Raikovich, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, as RBC-Ukraine notes. According to him, the situation is being monitored by the relevant services, which are working at the scene.
Strike on a critical infrastructure facility
In the head of the OVA's statement, it is emphasized that the target of the enemy strike was a critical infrastructure facility in Kropyvnytskyi. The specific type of facility is not disclosed in the initial message; however, Raikovich assured that all necessary services have been deployed and are monitoring the situation. Such strikes on infrastructure facilities typically require the involvement of firefighters, rescuers, and utility services to contain any fire and assess the scale of the damage.
Context: series of overnight attacks on September 16–17
The attack on Kropyvnytskyi was a continuation of a series of overnight strikes on Ukrainian cities. Just the day before, on September 16, Russia had already struck the center of Kropyvnytskyi: four people were injured, three of them were receiving medical care, and one woman refused hospitalization. That same night, homes and warehouses were damaged in Kyiv, ten people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl. In Odesa, a residential building was destroyed following the overnight attack, with six injured, including two children.
Emergency services working at the scene
At the site of the impact, as is typical for the aftermath of missile strikes, fire and rescue units are working: photos from the scene show a firefighter in protective gear and a helmet working against a backdrop of flames and thick black smoke. Such scenes reflect the routine faced by the State Emergency Service (SES) personnel when dealing with the aftermath of attacks on infrastructure facilities — from extinguishing fires to clearing debris and checking the safety of surrounding areas.

Andrii Raikovich once again called on residents of Kirovohrad Oblast not to ignore air raid alerts and to take shelter in safe places in a timely manner. Against the backdrop of repeated overnight strikes on different regions, regional authorities are reminding residents of the need to keep an action plan for air raid alerts at hand and to avoid crowded places near potential targets.
