In the evening, Russian occupation forces carried out another targeted attack using an attack drone on the civilian infrastructure of the Kyiv region. Lyceum No. 2, located in the urban-type settlement of Ivankiv in the Vyshhorod district, came under fire. The enemy UAV hit the educational institution directly, resulting in a large-scale and destructive fire breaking out inside the building.
According to Timur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the fire area exceeded 300 square meters. Emergency services quickly deployed to the scene: units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are making maximum efforts to localize and completely eliminate the consequences of the fire, which threatened to destroy the surviving part of the structure.
Rescue operation details and absence of casualties
Fortunately, tragedy was avoided thanks to the timely completion of the educational process. According to official information from the regional military administration, there were no children or teachers inside the lyceum premises at the time of the enemy strike, which saved the region from human casualties. Nevertheless, the material damage to the educational institution is colossal, and local residents once again faced the consequences of terror against civilian objects.

While Ukrainian regional authorities and rescue services record a strike specifically on the lyceum building in Ivankiv, some foreign reports and analytical materials (in particular, reports from regional monitoring agencies) expand the scope of the attack. Some sources claim parallel strikes not only on lyceums, but also on kindergartens that same evening. Official Kyiv departments currently confirm the destruction exclusively of lyceum No. 2 in Ivankiv and residential buildings in the Pechersk district of the capital the day before, which creates certain discrepancies in estimating the total number of damaged educational facilities.
Context of ongoing attacks on the capital
This incident is part of an ongoing series of massive air strikes on the central regions of Ukraine. Recall that shortly before this, on the morning of September 25, an enemy drone attacked a multi-apartment residential building in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. At that time, as a result of a direct hit, a 14-year-old teenager was killed, and the number of injured civilians rose to 20 people, including a young child. Experts emphasize the systemic nature of strikes on social infrastructure.
