On Wednesday, September 2, Russian occupiers struck a warehouse building in Kyiv with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to RBC-Ukraine, this was reported by the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko, citing information from the Kyiv Military Administration (KMA). The city head's statement clarifies that this concerns a "preliminary UAV strike on a warehouse building" in the Holosiivskyi district. At the time of publication, emergency services were already heading to the scene to assess the aftermath and contain any possible fires.
Response from authorities and emergency services
In connection with the strike, the Kyiv Military Administration urged all residents of the capital to immediately move to the nearest shelters and remain there until the official all-clear signal ends the air raid alert. Rescue and fire-fighting units are working at the impact site: the photo from the scene shows fire-resistant suits, an open pump section of a fire truck, and a connected hose, which is consistent with the standard response protocol for fires following UAV strikes. Earlier the same day, a fire had already broken out in the Holosiivskyi district after an enemy strike, which, according to reports, was extinguished by rescuers.
Timeline of the attack on the capital
The strike on the warehouse was part of an ongoing series of attacks on Kyiv. The day before, on September 1, Russian drones also hit the capital: in the Podilskyi district, the upper floors of a 16-story residential building caught fire as a result of the strike. Thus, over two days the city was subjected to several waves of drone attacks with fires in different districts, requiring emergency services to respond to multiple sites simultaneously.
The preceding 24 hours: Vishnove and Bucha district
On the evening of September 1, the occupiers also struck suburban areas of Kyiv Oblast. In Vishnove, the drone attack destroyed two townhouses. In addition, warehouses in the Bucha district were hit, where a fire broke out at the scene; according to available data, a woman born in 1971 was injured. These episodes confirm that strikes on logistics and warehouse infrastructure remain one of the priority directions of the attacks.

It should be noted that Mayor Klitschko's wording of a "preliminary strike" means that the exact location, the nature of the damage, and the presence of casualties had not yet been fully confirmed at the time of the statement. At the same time, open reports mention two related but distinct episodes in the Holosiivskyi district on the same day — an earlier extinguished fire and a subsequent strike on a warehouse building — which creates an inconsistency in the timeline and requires clarification from the KMA.
