In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops carried out another targeted attack on civilian critical infrastructure specialists. In the Zolochiv community, an enemy FPV drone struck a company vehicle belonging to "Gas Networks" (Gazseti), which is part of the state-owned Naftogaz Group. Five employees of the enterprise were inside the vehicle, heading to carry out scheduled and emergency repair work.

Employee Reaction and Scale of Threat

Tragedy was avoided solely due to the vigilance and instant reaction of the gas workers themselves. Noticing the approach of the enemy drone, the workers managed to quickly get out of the car seconds before the direct hit. As a result of the drone detonation, the vehicle sustained serious mechanical damage, but human casualties and injuries were successfully avoided. Serhiy Fedorenko, Acting Chairman of the Board of the Naftogaz Group, stressed that this incident clearly demonstrates the enemy's tactic of intentionally hunting people who ensure the viability of the regions.

Systemic Nature of Attacks on Critical Infrastructure

Such incidents in frontline and border regions have long ceased to be isolated cases. Since the beginning of 2026, this attack has become the 14th targeted shelling of Gas Networks repair teams. The Russian military regularly fires at specialists both during their departures to emergency rescue calls and during complex technical work to restore damaged networks. Despite the constant threat to life, energy and gas sector workers continue to fulfill their professional duties.

Statistics of Shelling Consequences Liquidation

The scale of destruction of Ukraine's gas infrastructure remains colossal due to continuous strikes. Since the beginning of 2026, Naftogaz Group emergency teams have successfully eliminated nearly 3,300 emergency situations and damages caused by enemy shelling. Work is carried out in extreme conditions of constant risk. The situation is complicated by the general intensification of strikes against Ukraine's fuel and energy complex, including recent massive missile and drone attacks on industrial facilities in the Poltava region and other parts of the country.
