The Ukrainian military has demonstrated significant success during a large-scale counteroffensive in the Lyman direction. According to official data from the 3rd Assault Corps, Ukrainian fighters managed to liberate a number of strategically important settlements and significantly advance deep into enemy positions. This operation became a turning point for the entire campaign in this sector of the frontline.

Liberated Territories and Breakthrough Tactics

During successful offensive operations, corps units liberated Nove, Redkodub, and Katerynivka, and also restored full control over Karpivka and Novomykhailivka. In total, 51 km of Ukrainian land was reclaimed during the operation, bringing the total to 176 km since the start of active actions. The main goal of the third season of the operation was the village of Nove, a key enemy defense node on the bridgehead.

To achieve surprise, the command applied unconventional tactics. As noted by the commander of the 3rd Assault Corps, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky, Russian forces were convinced that the main blow would fall on the Shandrigolovo - Zelenaya Dolina direction, and pointlessly burned their reserves there. At the same time, to break through the most fortified positions, the AFU used Soviet BTR-60s converted into robotic kamikaze complexes.

Mass Surrender and Enemy Losses

Total losses of Russian troops in this direction amounted to about 2,000 people killed and wounded. In addition, more than 250 servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces were taken prisoner. A distinctive feature of this phase of the operation was the surrender of entire units along with officer staff, pilots, and artillerymen, indicating a deep moral crisis in the enemy's ranks.

While the Ukrainian command and independent analysts confirm successful advancement in the Lyman direction, Russian milbloggers spread claims about the alleged capture of settlements in the Kharkiv region. However, international experts, including the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), found no visual or factual evidence of these claims, stating that there was no confirmed advance of Russian troops in most frontline areas.
