The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has released the preliminary results of a large-scale operation aimed at reducing Russia's military-economic potential. Over the past 40 days, as part of a campaign approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian intelligence services have struck dozens of targets in the Russian rear.
According to RBK-Ukraine, in just the past week alone, SBU operatives have hit airfields, logistics hubs, air defense systems, a missile boat, and even an oil production platform. The operation covers both the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and mainland Russian regions, including the Rostov region.
Strikes on War Financing Sources
Special attention during the campaign has been paid to infrastructure that finances military operations. The SBU continues to systematically destroy objects of the fuel and energy complex. Specifically, oil facilities in the Yaroslavl region and Udmurtia, as well as an export terminal in the Rostov region, have come under attack.
It is important to note the scale of the operation's geography: Ukrainian defenders are striking targets located 1,300 kilometers from the border. This indicates a deep penetration of sabotage groups and intelligence units deep into Russian territory.
Destroying Air Defense in Crimea
Parallel to the SBU's actions, fighters from the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have eliminated elements of the Russian air defense system. On the night of July 26, a launcher and radar of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system were destroyed on the territory of Crimea.
Intelligence officers managed to set the equipment on fire right at the combat position, significantly reducing the Russian army's ability to cover the airspace of the peninsula.
Kremlin Mobilization Plans
Against the backdrop of the loss of military and industrial objects, new measures to strengthen the army are being discussed in the Kremlin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the intentions of the Russian leadership to conduct a new wave of mobilization.
According to Zelenskyy, after the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which are scheduled for late September or early October, the recruitment of between 300,000 and 500,000 people is planned. These figures indicate that, despite losses, the Russian leadership continues to prepare for a protracted conflict, attempting to compensate for a lack of resources with human reserves.
