Dnipro-based Shakhtar is facing a serious challenge ahead of the new football season. The team's attacking midfielder, 21-year-old Brazilian Eginaldou, will be unable to assist the "miners" at the start of the year due to an injury sustained during summer training.

Surgery in Germany

According to RBC-Ukraine, citing the club's official Instagram page, the injury proved to be quite serious. Shakhtar's medical staff decided on surgical intervention. The player was successfully operated on at one of the specialized clinics in Germany.

Eginaldou has already begun the rehabilitation process. However, despite the successful surgery, the player will definitely miss the remaining preparatory training camps, as well as the first official rounds of the new season.

Significant Loss for the Attack

Eginaldou has been playing for the Ukrainian giant since the summer of 2023, when he was purchased from Brazilian Vasco da Gama for 3.5 million euros. During this time, he has become an integral part of the Dnipro team's attacking line. The forward has 84 matches to his credit for Shakhtar, in which he scored 19 goals and made 13 assists.
