Kyiv's Obolon and Donetsk's Shakhtar have officially agreed on changes to the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) calendar for the current season. The upcoming 11th-round match of the national championship, which was scheduled to take place in the capital of Ukraine, has been moved to another venue by mutual consent of the parties.

New UPL Calendar Details

According to an official statement from the press service of FC Obolon, the 11th-round match between the Donetsk and Kyiv teams will take place on October 30. Shakhtar will act as the nominal home team, and the match will be hosted at the Arena Lviv stadium in Lviv. Thus, the Donetsk team will not travel to Kyiv for this specific game.

Exchange of Home Matches

The decision means that the clubs have effectively swapped their home/away status for the first and second rounds of the current UPL season. The return leg of the 26th round of the Ukrainian championship between Obolon and Shakhtar will be held in Kyiv at the Obolon-Arena. The base date for this fixture is set for May 8, 2027, with the capital team acting as the hosts.

Club Reactions and Context

Both sides emphasize that the change in logistics and the order of the matches was agreed upon constructively and without any disagreements. The club management took into account the current sports and logistical realities, making it possible to promptly restructure the schedule of matches in the tournament without violating the competition regulations.
