The Ukrainian defense-tech company SkyFall has officially presented a new middle-strike combat UAV named Thor Hammer. The device is already actively deployed on the frontline and demonstrates high technical characteristics, combining affordable cost with modern artificial intelligence technologies. According to the developers, the drone's flight range spans from 350 to 600 kilometers depending on the modification, making it capable of striking strategically important targets deep behind enemy lines.

Technical Specifications and Combat Capabilities

The new UAV can carry a payload weighing between 40 and 50 kilograms, utilizing fragmentation, high-explosive fragmentation, and other types of munitions. The maximum speed of the device reaches 180 km/h. At the same time, the project's economic viability makes it highly attractive for mass production, with the cost of a single complex estimated at $25,000–$30,000. The drone is launched using a catapult or a special rocket booster, allowing the system to be deployed both from stationary positions and from mobile transport platforms based on regular trucks.

EW Resistance and Artificial Intelligence

To ensure stable communication under active electronic warfare countermeasures, the drone can be equipped with Starlink terminals and other secure data transmission channels. A multi-level navigation system combines satellite, inertial, and backup sensors. During the route flight, the drone transmits real-time video, and as it approaches the target, computer vision and AI technologies are activated. This automatically corrects the trajectory even in the event of a complete loss of communication with the operator.

Contradictory Data

While official press releases and analytical reports position Thor Hammer as a long-range middle-strike UAV for hitting ground targets, some third-party media outlets have mistakenly referred to it in their publications as an interceptor drone designed to counter aerial targets and Shahed-type jet drones. Nevertheless, the basic specification of the device is explicitly tailored for striking stationary objects utilizing a powerful warhead weighing up to 50 kg.

Production Scaling and Future Outlook

SkyFall provides a full production cycle, including the creation of proprietary software, training operators within the SkyFall Academy center, and round-the-clock maintenance. By the end of the year, the company intends to scale serial manufacturing up to 5,000 units per month. Simultaneously, the engineering team is developing a new modification with a flight range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, elevating Ukrainian unmanned systems to a new level of strategic deterrence.
