The National Guard of Ukraine will soon expand its arsenal with advanced unmanned aerial vehicles. The German-Ukrainian joint venture Quantum Frontline Industries, formed through a collaboration between Frontline Robotics and Quantum Systems, has signed a strategic contract for the supply of modern equipment. Under this agreement, the Ukrainian defense forces will receive two key developments: the "Linza" bomber drones and the "Zoom" reconnaissance drones.
Production of the high-tech systems will be established at manufacturing facilities in Germany, with direct deliveries scheduled for 2027. According to the manufacturer's technical specifications, the "Linza 3.0" model is capable of transporting up to 4 kilograms of payload, covering distances of up to 15 kilometers, and staying in continuous flight for up to 60 minutes. This configuration makes the device an effective tool for targeting fortified positions and equipment.
Technical Features and Artificial Intelligence
In turn, the "Zoom 3.0" modification was designed as a specialized reconnaissance tool. Its main task is the prompt detection of targets, precise determination of geographic coordinates, and correction of artillery fire. A crucial feature of the new UAVs is the integration of artificial intelligence-based navigation systems. This technology allows the drones to maintain autonomy and perform flight missions even under conditions of severe electronic warfare interference from the enemy, when standard communication channels are completely jammed.
Broader Context of Defense Innovations
It is worth noting that this supply fits organically into the overall trend of technological modernization of Ukraine's Defense Forces. Earlier, within the framework of the domestic defense cluster Brave1, initiatives were launched to develop specialized humanoid robots designed to minimize risks for personnel during rotations and assaults. Concurrently, units of the Air Assault Forces are successfully mastering new air defense methods, including intercepting jet-propelled targets like "Shahed" using specialized interceptor drones, as confirmed by frontline reports.
