In the morning of July 15, Russian aggression struck civilian infrastructure in northern Ukraine once again. A gas station in the Malyn territorial community of the Zhytomyr region was hit by shelling. As a result of the attack, two people were injured and were urgently hospitalized.
This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, in his Telegram channel. According to him, the enemy continues to actively terrorize the northern districts of the region, striking vital infrastructure objects.
Condition of the injured and rescue operations
The mayor of Malyn, Oleksandr Sityilo, provided details of the incident. According to his data, one of the injured is in critical condition. Medical workers are providing all necessary assistance and taking measures to stabilize their health and save their lives.
Rescuers and special services personnel are working at the scene. They are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the strike, clearing debris, and ensuring safety in the area.
Recurring attack scenario
This is not the first strike on fuel and energy complex objects in the region. Just a day earlier, in the morning of July 14, two kamikaze drones (Shaheds) attacked another gas station located in a residential area of Malyn. Then, an explosion caused a fire, but there were no casualties.
It is important to note that the problem of strikes on gas stations is systemic. Earlier, a fire was reported at a gas station in Zaporizhzhia following a Russian strike. Consequently, the large WOG gas station network was forced to introduce a special operating mode in several regions of Ukraine.
Government response and safety measures
Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to strengthen the protection of gas stations in frontline regions. However, as practice shows, the threat persists.
Vitaliy Bunechko appealed to citizens to strictly observe safety rules during air raid alerts. He particularly emphasized the need to avoid being at gas stations during such moments to preserve the life and health of oneself and loved ones.
