On the morning of August 5, Kharkiv was struck again. Russian military forces launched a new type of missile-drones against the city — so-called 'Banderols'. The attack affected two districts: Novobavarskyi and Kholodnohirskyi. As a result, 11 people were injured, residential buildings and a civilian enterprise were damaged.

Attack details

According to the regional prosecutor's office, four 'Banderol' missile-drones were fired at Kharkiv. One hit a production facility in the Novobavarskyi district — the facility has no military designation. Another missile struck a private house in the Kholodnohirskyi district. Damage to windows in multi-story buildings in the Novobavarskyi district was also recorded.

Casualties

A total of 11 people were injured as a result of the attack — eight men and three women. Among them:

  • In the Novobavarskyi district, men aged 44, 45, 71, 72, and 81 sustained blast injuries. All of them were hospitalized. Another 44-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction.
  • In the Kholodnohirskyi district, a 54-year-old man was injured and also hospitalized. Four other residents — aged 48, 50, 75, and 77 — suffered acute stress reactions.

Condition of the injured

As of 18:54, two injured people remain in hospitals. Their condition is assessed by medical personnel as stable but serious. This was reported by the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Synehubov.

Scale of destruction

As a result of the strikes, 19 residential buildings were damaged. In the Kholodnohirskyi district, at least 10 houses and several cars were damaged. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that the attack was directed against the civilian population and that the weapon used is a new type employed by Russian military forces.

Government response

The city mayor emphasized that the target of the strike was a civilian enterprise with no military designation. This indicates the systematic nature of attacks on infrastructure and residential areas. Authorities continue to work on providing assistance to the injured and restoring damaged facilities.
