A tragic incident occurred in the suburbs of Kryvyi Rih, claiming the lives of civilians. A ballistic missile struck a private home directly, where a large family was living. According to the head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, the strike was carried out by an Iskander-M missile launched from the territory of the Voronezh region.
Casualties and Injured
The consequences of the attack were catastrophic. As a result of the direct hit on the residential building, six people died. Among the dead were two girls aged 5 and 12. Another eight people were injured with varying degrees of severity. Among them were also children: boys aged 6 and 15.
Rescue Operations
Emergency rescue operations continue at the scene of the incident. The clearance of rubble is not yet complete, and rescuers are working to search for possible survivors under the debris. The injured are receiving necessary medical assistance. Oleksandr Vilkul warned that the number of casualties could rise as the work is completed.
International Context
The events in Kryvyi Rih are taking place against the backdrop of tense diplomatic activity. Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, contacted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The conversation took place immediately after Tehran voiced threats against Ukraine. Kyiv emphasized that its actions are aimed solely at protection from Russian aggression and called on Iran to abandon support for the war.
In response, Tehran stated that it does not seek to escalate the conflict with Ukraine, but noted that the damage caused to their ship must be compensated.
