The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine carried out a large-scale and strategically vital operation, hitting the Samara linear production and dispatching station (LPDS) located near the settlement of Prosvet in Russia's Samara region. This facility is Europe's largest oil storage and transshipment hub, playing a critical role in hydrocarbon logistics.

Scale and significance of the strategic facility

According to the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, the attack was executed by operators from the 1st Separate Center. The Samara LPDS station is part of Transneft's structure and spans an area of over 216 hectares. The colossal reservoirs of this complex are capable of holding over 1.6 million cubic meters of oil, ensuring its reception, storage, blending, and further transportation to both the domestic market and export.

Military dimension and logistical support for the army

The Ukrainian military emphasizes that this infrastructural hub is directly involved in meeting the needs of the Russian army, effectively serving as part of the military-industrial machine. The destruction or damage of such facilities significantly undermines fuel supply supply chains and reduces the economic potential used to wage war.

Consequences of the attack and accompanying strikes

As a result of nighttime explosions at the Samara LPDS, a powerful fire broke out, which is also confirmed by independent monitoring channels, including the Astra Telegram channel. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier reported the strikes on a number of critical facilities in the Samara and Volgograd regions, as well as the comprehensive efforts by the Defense Forces targeting military airfields, oil refineries, a rocket and space center, and ammunition depots across various Russian regions.
