Explosions were heard again in the Odesa region. Russian forces launched drone strikes on civilian objects, resulting in the death of a woman and a massive fire at the site of a damaged main gas pipeline.
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Kiper, confirmed the information about the tragedy. According to him, the strikes hit several settlements, where residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged.
Tragedy in residential buildings
One of the enemy drones hit a two-story small apartment building in one of the settlements. As a result of this incident, a woman died. In another area of the region, a drone collapsed the roof of a private residential house, but fortunately, no one was injured.
Fire at an infrastructure facility
The damage to critical infrastructure is particularly concerning. As a result of the attack, a warehouse for storing tobacco and a main gas pipeline were damaged. The breach of the pipe led to a fire. At the moment, emergency services are working at the site, and active fire suppression is underway.
Law enforcement agencies have already begun work at the scenes of the incidents. They are documenting the damage and investigating the circumstances of the attack, classifying the actions of Russian military personnel as a war crime against the civilian population.
Massive attack on the entire country
The events in Odesa were part of a large-scale night attack. On the night of July 22, Russia launched 216 strike drones and 4 missiles at Ukraine from various directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the targets, but some still reached their destinations.
In addition to Odesa, other regions were also hit. In the Kyiv region, specifically in the Bucha district, five civilians, including three children, were injured. They suffered acute stress reactions. As a result of the attacks in the region, five private houses were damaged.
