The key principle she emphasizes is a move away from excessive formality: “For September 1, I would not recommend creating a too formal look. A thought-out ensemble made up of pieces you can later wear in everyday life looks far more modern. An interesting cut, the right proportions, or a single accent are enough.”
Light Monochrome and a Black Silhouette: Two Basic Formulas
The first option proposed by Denysyuk is built on a light monochrome — one of the most elegant solutions for the start of autumn. A fitted top is paired with a long, straight skirt with a slit, creating a restrained yet far from boring silhouette. To balance the light palette, the stylist recommends accessories in natural tones: a bag and shoes in khaki or olive, as well as gold jewelry. “Don’t be afraid of a light total look. It is precisely the difference in textures and a small colored accent that make such an ensemble more interesting,” she explains. The second basic option is a black fitted midi- or maxi-length dress. This is the solution for moms who do not want to spend time matching several pieces. To keep the black look from appearing too strict, it is enough to add a bag in a wine or burgundy shade, gold jewelry, and minimalist shoes. “A black dress already creates a clear silhouette on its own. You don’t need many details here. A beautiful bag, earrings, and shoes are enough,” advises Denysyuk.
Contrast of Textures and Colors: From Red Trousers to Muted Green
For those who prefer more expressive solutions, the stylist offers several contrasting combinations. One of them is wide light trousers paired with a jacket in a contrasting dark shade. A delicate top can be added under the jacket to soften the strictness of the ensemble. A particular point of interest here is the printed footwear: it becomes the main accent, while the rest of the styling remains restrained. Another formula is built on the combination of rich red and chocolate: wide red trousers are balanced by a minimalist brown jacket. “If there is already such an active color in the look, you don’t need to add several competing accents. Let red be the main one, with brown and gold details supporting it,” explains Denysyuk. The fifth option is the combination of black and muted green: a fitted shirt with a long skirt creates an expressive silhouette, while brown shoes, a black bag, glasses, and bold gold earrings complete the look, keeping it appropriate for a morning outing.
Feminine Accents: From Burgundy Details to Lace
A more playful option is a light jacket with an emphasized waist paired with a skirt. To keep the look from appearing too “sweet,” the stylist suggests adding deep burgundy to the milky tone. “Burgundy accessories work beautifully with light shades. They add depth to the look and immediately make it feel more autumnal,” notes Denysyuk. If a mini does not suit the style or the format of the school event, the same principle can be repeated with a midi skirt. For a romantic mood, a light blouse with long sleeves and a bow paired with a black skirt will work; a lace detail at the hem gives the ensemble character. In this case, it is better not to overdo the accessories: a minimalist clutch, earrings, and shoes will be a sufficient finish. “If the outfit already has lace, a bow, or another eye-catching detail, the accessories can be as simple as possible. The look needs air,” advises the stylist.
Total Black as a Festive Option
Completing the selection is a fully black ensemble that, when put together correctly, looks truly festive. A fitted vest and a long straight skirt create a graphic silhouette, while a red or burgundy bag becomes the only bright accent in the look. Gold jewelry helps soften the total black and adds extra elegance. Thus, Denysyuk demonstrates that a successful look for September 1, 2026, does not require complex styling work: it is enough to choose one of the ready-made formulas, adapt it to your wardrobe, and add one or two accents that will make the ensemble complete and memorable.
