Famous Ukrainian karateka Stanislav Horuna has made a resonant statement regarding his professional future after the end of his sports career. The athlete categorically ruled out the possibility of heading the Ukrainian national karate team as head coach, explaining this by the colossal level of responsibility and time commitments that completely contradict his life priorities.
Reasons for rejecting the national team
In his recent interview, Stanislav detailed why such a career trajectory does not suit him. According to the titled athlete, his personal requirements for the quality of coaching imply absolute, one-hundred-percent involvement in the process. Horuna emphasized that being at the helm of the national team is mega-responsible, and such a position would leave him no chance to develop parallel projects and personal initiatives.
The athlete noted that if he agreed to this role, the job would take him completely and entirely. It is precisely his high standards of self-discipline and perfectionism that prevent him from considering proposals to lead the country's main team, as he is accustomed to fulfilling any obligations he undertakes with maximum quality and without compromise.
Alternative work formats and new projects
Nevertheless, completely stepping away from mentoring is not in the karateka's plans. At this stage, Stanislav already practices online training for several athletes, but he rules out a full transition into club coaching or opening his own school. Horuna is open exclusively to flexible cooperation formats, such as short-term training camps, master classes, or one-off sessions.
The main criterion for him remains maintaining freedom of movement and independence from a rigid schedule. Currently, the athlete is at a peculiar life crossroads, combining activities in several different spheres at once. This multi-vector approach allows him to successfully balance personal development, media presence, and the episodic transfer of experience to the younger generation of karatekas.
