Increased thunderstorm activity is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. According to the forecast by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, over the next two hours and until the end of the day on July 24, the region will face heavy downpours and lightning strikes.

Threat to Infrastructure

Meteorologists warn that the current weather conditions could create serious difficulties for utility services and energy companies. Intense precipitation and thunderstorms may lead to disruptions in the power grid and interfere with the functioning of city services.

General Weather Picture in the Country

According to meteorologists, variable cloudiness is observed across Ukraine today. During the day, short-term rains and thunderstorms are expected throughout the country, with the exception of most southern regions. The wind is predominantly northern with gusts of 5–10 m/s. Daytime temperatures will range from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

In Kyiv and the surrounding region, variable cloudiness is forecast. Short-term rain is possible during the day in the city, while thunderstorms are expected in the region.
