Residents of Ukraine should be prepared for sudden weather changes in the coming days. According to the forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMC), on July 14, unstable weather with short-term rain and thunderstorms is expected across the entire country. Despite air masses coming from the north, meteorologists assure that temperatures will remain comfortable.
Synoptic Situation for the Week
During the current work week (from July 13 to 17), weather conditions will change. The main factor determining the weather on Wednesday and Thursday (July 14–15) will be a field of slightly reduced pressure. It is this that provokes the formation of precipitation and thunderstorm activity.
The situation will begin to change by Friday, July 16. With the rise in atmospheric pressure, meteorologists do not expect new precipitation. Experts note that, although air flows will come from northern directions, they will bring "moderate pleasant gentle warmth".
Detailed Forecast for July 14
For July 14, meteorologists forecast cloudy weather with clearings. However, night and daytime hours carry risks of dangerous meteorological phenomena:
- Night: Thunderstorms are possible on the Right Bank of Ukraine. On the south and east of the country, thunderstorm activity is forecast without precipitation.
- Day: Short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the territory of the country.
- Fog: In Zakarpattia and the Carpathians, fog may occur locally during night and morning hours.
The wind will blow predominantly from the northwest, with a speed of 5–10 m/s.
Danger to Infrastructure and Threat Level
Meteorologists warn that the prevailing weather conditions may lead to complications in the operation of energy enterprises. In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, cloudy weather with clearings is also expected. Short-term rain and thunderstorms are not excluded, which have been assigned a yellow danger level (Level I).
Experts remind that the accuracy of forecasts depends on the work of meteorological stations and constant monitoring of changes in the atmosphere, which allows the population to be warned in advance about possible risks.
