The political landscape of Ukraine has undergone rapid changes in July 2026. According to data from a fresh representative survey conducted by the Rating Group agency, the trust ratings for key figures in power and military command have shown unexpected shifts. Former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov has made a real breakthrough, bursting into the top three most popular leaders.
Survey results: Zaluzhny is unbeatable
The study, conducted on July 20–21, 2026, revealed how citizens' attitudes towards officials have changed against the backdrop of recent events in the country. Despite Fedorov's rapid rise in popularity, he was unable to overtake the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny. Zaluzhny maintains his position as the leader in terms of trust among Ukrainians.
The top three leaders also include the current President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. However, the dynamics of the indicators over the past week were extremely dramatic.
Record growth and sharp decline
The most notable event of the week was the surge in Mykhailo Fedorov's rating. In a short period, the level of trust in him rose from 35% to 65%. This jump was a record and indicates high public support for his activities, especially against the backdrop of rumors about a new position offered to him by President Zelenskyy.
At the same time, Oleksandr Syrskyi's rating demonstrated the opposite trend. The level of trust in the new Chief of the General Staff dropped from 39% to 23%. This decline occurred against the backdrop of his first statement after being dismissed from his previous position and the change in leadership at the General Staff, where he replaced Oleksandr Hnatov.
Context of changes
The results of the Rating Group survey reflect society's reaction to a series of personnel reshuffles and public statements. While Valeriy Zaluzhny retains his status as the most authoritative leader, the struggle for second and third place in the trust rating has intensified. Mykhailo Fedorov, who previously held the post of Minister of Defense, managed to significantly strengthen his position, while Oleksandr Syrskyi faced criticism and a drop in support.
These data highlight how quickly public opinion can change under current conditions, where every statement and personnel decision becomes a subject of close attention from citizens.
