The Ukrainian government has expanded a large-scale financial support program for citizens planning to switch to independent heating. This decision aims to help the population ensure warmth in their homes amidst the instability of centralized systems.
News of the updated support conditions came from Prime Minister Serhiy Kuretskyi, who announced the details in his Telegram channel. According to the new information, the state is ready to provide preferential loans for purchasing equipment and materials for organizing individual heating.
Loan conditions and compensation amounts
The amount of the available loan varies depending on the borrower's needs and capabilities. Citizens can count on a sum of up to 250,000 hryvnias or up to 480,000 hryvnias. A key advantage of the program is the partial compensation of the principal debt by the state.
The Prime Minister clarified the mechanism for returning funds: the state will take on the compensation of 10% or 20% of the principal loan amount. The specific percentage depends on the size of the loan received, making the program flexible for different categories of the population.
Restrictions and requirements for real estate
Clear criteria regarding the real estate object have been established for participation in the program. Preferential lending is available exclusively for houses with an area of no more than 300 square meters. This restriction is aimed at ensuring that support is targeted and covers the maximum number of private households.
Serhiy Kuretskyi called on all citizens who were already planning or were just thinking about installing independent heating to take advantage of this opportunity. Experts note that such measures are critically important for increasing the energy independence of citizens in current conditions.
Context of economic reforms
The launch of the heating support program takes place against the backdrop of other significant economic steps by the government. Previously, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers had submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada to cancel the VAT exemption for imported goods from foreign marketplaces if their cost does not exceed 150 euros.
Alongside this, the official preparation of the state budget project for 2027 has begun in the country. The government has already set deadlines for ministries and formulated key tasks for the future financial document.
Changes are also taking place in the administrative field: the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers has abolished a number of decrees of the previous government, in particular those providing for the creation of a Coordination Center for organizing the registration of military personnel. These steps indicate a restructuring of state mechanisms under new priorities.
