Weather in Ukraine on September 3: rain and thunderstorms in places, up to +30°C in the south during the day, 23–25°C in Kyiv

On September 3, Ukraine will see partly cloudy skies, with brief rain in places across most regions and thunderstorms in some areas. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. The photo of the day, showing pedestrians with bright umbrellas walking along a wet cobblestone pavement, vividly captures the typical scenario of the first autumn month: rainy but not chilly days, when the umbrella becomes the main street accessory.

Where it will stay dry

The day will pass without precipitation in the eastern regions and in Crimea. Across the rest of the country, rain and thunderstorms will be local and short-lived, so no sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected. Meteorologists emphasize that the bad weather will be patchy and quickly give way to partly cloudy skies, so prolonged downpours and stormy phenomena are not forecast across the country as a whole.

Temperature outlook

At night, the air will cool to 9–15°C, and in the southern part of the country to 13–18°C. During the day, thermometers will rise to 21–26°C, while in Zakarpattia and in the south and southeast the mark will reach 30°C in places. Thus, the warmth has not fully departed, but its retreat is already noticeable in the cooler nights and in the fact that the daytime maximum is shifting toward the southern and southeastern regions.

Wind and cooler air

The wind will be predominantly westerly, at 5–10 m/s. It is this wind that will bring a cooler air mass into Ukraine, which is why nighttime temperatures will be relatively low while daytime ones remain comfortable. This is a typical early-September picture of the transition from summer to autumn mode, when the difference between day and night becomes pronounced.

Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast

Partly cloudy skies are also expected in the capital and Kyiv Oblast. No precipitation was recorded at night, but during the day brief rain and thunderstorms are possible in places. In Kyiv Oblast, nighttime temperatures will be 9–14°C, and during the day the air will warm to 21–26°C. In Kyiv itself, it was 12–14°C at night, and 23–25°C is expected during the day — comfortable values, but with the recommendation to keep an umbrella handy.
