Ukraine has officially welcomed US President Donald Trump's signing of the "hellish sanctions" law against Russia and Iran. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha in his post on the social network X, noting that international pressure on Moscow will only intensify, and that the Kremlin's calculations on a weakening of support for Ukraine will not materialize. In his words, the signing of the document became a "truly historic day" for Kyiv and its allies.
Kyiv's Reaction: "The Aggressor Will Pay a High Price"
The head of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry emphasized that the new law will increase pressure not only on Russia but also on everyone who helps it wage war against Ukraine. "President Trump's signing of the Lindsey O. Graham Act on 'Sanctions Against Russia and Iran' will intensify pressure on Russia and those who facilitate its war against Ukraine. This will further isolate the aggressor and reduce the resources fueling its war," Sybiha stated. The minister also thanked the United States for its support of Ukraine and paid tribute to the late Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the authors of the "hellish sanctions."
