Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles carried out a series of precision strikes against expensive military facilities of Russian occupiers in the south of the country. As a result of the operations, the Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile system, the Sargan high-speed patrol boat, and the Forpost radio intelligence station were destroyed or damaged.
Scale of losses and equipment cost
According to data from the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, published in the department's Telegram channel, the strikes targeted key elements of Russian infrastructure. Experts estimate the approximate cost of the destroyed Pantsir-S1 SAM system at $15 million. The Sargan high-speed patrol boat, also targeted by drones, is valued at approximately $6 million.
Continuation of a successful campaign
These events are a continuation of a series of successful operations by Ukrainian special services against Russian equipment. Recently, GUR drones destroyed the expensive Murmansk-BN electronic warfare station in temporarily occupied Crimea. Additionally, there were earlier reports of a fire at an S-400 position in Crimea, where a launcher and radar of the air defense complex were burned.
New strategies to combat the shadow fleet
Alongside the destruction of ground and naval equipment, the Ukrainian side is developing new areas of struggle. The defense company MAC HUB, together with GUR, is developing a strategy to counter the Russian "shadow fleet." For these purposes, advanced Katran maritime drones are used, which allow special forces to detect and detain ships transporting sanctioned cargo.
