The Defense Forces of Ukraine have carried out a series of successful strikes against key military targets of the Russian forces in the occupied territories. Specifically, attacks targeted concentrations of personnel from the "Rubicon" unmanned aerial vehicle unit in the Zaporizhzhia region and an enemy "drone port" near Donetsk. The overall operation covers several strategic directions, including Crimea and the Volnovakha district.

Strikes on the Rubicon Unit and UAV Infrastructure

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation was conducted on October 14 and during the night of October 15, 2026. The military targeted concentrations of personnel from the Russian "Rubicon" unit, which actively uses strike drones against Ukrainian positions. In addition, missile-artillery and drone crews of the Defense Forces eliminated a drone launch and control point, known as a "drone port", located near temporarily occupied Donetsk.

Previously, the Ukrainian military had already conducted effective operations against this unit. Specifically, in the area of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, storage warehouses for "Rubicon" drones were successfully destroyed, significantly reducing the intensity of drone use in that sector of the front.

Operations in Crimea and the Zaporizhzhia Region

Parallel to strikes on UAV operators, Ukrainian forces continue systematic destruction of enemy logistics and air defense infrastructure. Based on the verification of previous attacks, four storage facilities for unmanned aerial vehicles were damaged on October 13 in the area of Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. Signs of secondary detonation were recorded at the site, confirming the destruction of significant ammunition and explosive reserves.

At the beginning of October, the Defense Forces also carried out large-scale precision strikes. Notably, on October 3 and during the night of October 4, 2026, an enemy "Buk-M3" surface-to-air missile system was successfully hit near the settlement of Kuroshany in the Zaporizhzhia region, playing an important role in covering the invaders' positions in the southern direction.

Significance and Further Prospects of Special Operations

The systematic destruction of logistics facilities, UAV storage warehouses, and anti-aircraft missile systems aims at systematically weakening the enemy's offensive potential. The elimination of specialized drone operator units such as "Rubicon" deprives Russian troops of a technological advantage on key frontline sectors. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes that comprehensive efforts to identify and strike priority military targets continue around the clock.
