Crystal-clear water, majestic mountains, dense pine forests, and breathtaking panoramas create an atmosphere that captivates at first glance. The WAVE RBC.UA project has prepared an overview of locations that will be the perfect destination for both a weekend getaway and a full summer vacation.
Synevir: the pearl of the Carpathians
Synevir is not just a lake, but a symbol of Ukrainian nature. The country's highest-altitude lake is located at an elevation of almost 1000 meters above sea level and is surrounded by dense coniferous forests. The water here is so transparent that on sunny days, the bottom near the shore is clearly visible.
The lake is beautiful at any time of year, but it looks especially spectacular in autumn. During this period, the surrounding forests turn golden and crimson, creating a contrast with the deep blue of the water.
Svyatye: the Ukrainian Sea
Part of the Shatsk Lakes is Svyatye — a water body often called the "Ukrainian Sea." It is the largest and one of the deepest natural lakes in the country, reaching a maximum depth of about 58.4 meters.
Svyatye is famous for its clear water and sandy beaches. On hot summer days, the water here warms up quickly enough, making the lake one of the most popular places for summer recreation and swimming.
Blue Lakes and Neistove
The unique status of the Blue Lakes is due to the unusual color of the water. The rich turquoise shade appears thanks to the quartz sand lying at the bottom. The surrounding pine forest, clean air, and clear water make this location one of the most scenic in Ukraine.
Another pearl of the Carpathians is the glacial lake Neistove. It is shrouded in legends and is part of popular tourist routes on the Chernohora range. Even in summer, a special atmosphere of silence reigns here, and the surrounding peaks create incredible panoramas.
Turquoise Lake near the Basalt Columns
Near the famous Basalt Columns is a lake with rich turquoise-colored water. It was formed on the site of an old quarry and has become a popular photo location today. The combination of dark basalt rocks, clear water, and green trees creates an unusual and memorable view.
