Fifth strike in a short period: Kyiv's Ukrnafta gas stations hit again, no casualties

The Ukrnafta network of gas stations in Kyiv has once again come under Russian attack. This was reported in a Facebook post by Bohdan Kukur, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrnafta," which was cited by RBC-Ukraine. According to him, this is already the fifth such strike on the company's infrastructure in a short period. This time, the stations hit were located on both the left and right banks of the capital.

As Kukur emphasized, this is civilian infrastructure used daily by thousands of people. The latest attack, he said, once again confirmed the vulnerability of fuel retail facilities and the need to maintain a strict operating procedure during air alerts. RBC-Ukraine journalists visited the scene and showed what the damaged facilities look like: the footage shows typical gas station elements — fuel dispensing columns with 95 and 92 gasoline grades and diesel fuel, as well as equipment for refilling AdBlue.

Safety protocols worked

A key detail of the new attack was that, at the time of the strike, the stations were closed due to an active air alert. Staff had been moved to shelters in advance, and there were no visitors on the premises. The company stressed that it shuts down gas stations when an alert is declared precisely to reduce risks for employees and customers, and noted that the latest strike once again showed the need to follow such a procedure. According to available data, there are no casualties.

Damage assessment and repair work

Ukrnafta specialists are now assessing the consequences of the new strike. Once the assessment is complete, the company will determine exactly what repair work will be needed at the damaged facilities. "The safety of people remains our priority," Kukur stated. Thus, the question of the timing and scale of repairs will be resolved only after the technical inspection of the stations is completed.

The fuel market and the tactics of strikes

Despite the new attacks on gas stations in Kyiv and the expansion of the geography of strikes to the west of the country, the situation in the fuel market, according to experts, remains stable. Serhiy Kuyun, Director of the Consulting Group A-95, noted that the destruction of facilities in Zhytomyr and Rivne Oblasts does not indicate a change in Russian tactics. This means that, in the view of analysts, the expansion of the geography of strikes has not yet turned into a systematic change of strategy, and the fuel market continues to function in normal mode.
