Ukrnafta gas stations in Kyiv have been hit again: according to Chairman of the Board Bohdan Kukur, this is already the fifth strike in a short period. The stations were closed due to the air alert, and there are no casualties. Experts describe the fuel market as stable.

Russia carried out a fifth strike on 'Ukrnafta' gas stations in Kyiv and for the first time attacked stations in Zhytomyr and Rivne Oblasts. A-95 expert Serhiy Kuyun stated that there will be no fuel shortage, but allows for short-term panic buying.

Energy Minister Denys Shmygal stated that Ukraine's fuel market fully covers demand and that reserves are sufficient. At the same time, fuel station networks raised prices on gasoline, diesel, and gas by an average of one hryvnia per liter.

On the night of 30 August, drones attacked the KINEF refinery in Kirishi and the military airfield in Eysk. A fire at the plant and secondary detonations at military facilities were confirmed, and air defence reported shooting down dozens of drones.

The NBU set the official exchange rate for August 31: dollar at 44.55 UAH (+1 kop.), euro at 51.88 UAH (+3 kop.). Experts link possible pressure on the currency in September to rising fuel prices.

As of August 22, 2026, Ukraine's fuel market is stable: networks maintain previous prices, and there is no shortage. Experts advise only residents of frontline regions to keep a fuel reserve in jerrycans.
