Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the route schedule of passenger train Intercity+ No. 743, which previously ran on the Darnytsia — Lviv route. Ahead of the autumn school holidays, the route has been extended: the train will now travel further to Truskavets station, with an intermediate stop in Drohobych. The first train on the updated schedule will depart on October 23, and tickets for the new services are already on sale. According to the company, the adjustment aims to expand travel opportunities to the resort region during the peak vacation season.

New Route, Schedule, and Stops

In the outbound direction, the train departs from Darnytsia station at 05:50 and from Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station at 06:15. Arrival in Truskavets is scheduled for 13:45. The route includes stops in Dubno, Pidzamche station, Lviv, and Drohobych. In the return direction, departure from Truskavets is set for 14:30, and arrival in Kyiv is at 22:28. Thus, the updated route provides direct, transfer-free service between Kyiv and resort Truskavets in both directions.

Focus on Family and Children's Travel

Ukrzaliznytsia specified that Intercity+ on the new route will run daily, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The company explained the route extension by the need to create additional opportunities for family travel and children's group trips during the autumn holidays. A regular, yet non-daily schedule allows capacity to be focused on periods of peak demand while maintaining direct connectivity with the resort region.

Context: Security-Related Service Adjustments

The change to route No. 743 comes against the backdrop of other adjustments across Ukrzaliznytsia's network due to deteriorating security conditions. Specifically, starting October 20, trains No. 79/80 Dnipro — Lviv and No. 31/32 Zaporizhzhia — Przemyśl were canceled both due to security concerns and declining passenger traffic. Alternative services to Lviv, as well as connecting routes via Lviv or Kyiv, have been arranged for passengers on these routes. Similarly, the connection with Sumy has been modified: some trains have been canceled, and a daily combined route with a bus transfer in Konotop has been launched instead, with the bus fare included in the single ticket.

What Passengers Need to Know

Passengers planning a trip to Truskavets for the autumn holidays should note that the updated service does not operate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and tickets for the new dates are already on sale. Direct travel from Kyiv to Truskavets via Drohobych reduces travel time compared to transfer options and, according to the carrier, makes the resort region more accessible for families and organized groups during the holiday period.
