Additional carriages on the Kyiv — Chełm route

The Ukrainian railway carrier "Ukrzaliznytsya" has decided to significantly expand the composition of trains on one of the most in-demand international routes. Due to the expected surge in passenger traffic, the company will add additional carriages to train No. 23/24, which runs along the Kyiv — Chełm (Poland) route. This strategic decision will effectively double the number of available seats for passengers planning a trip abroad at the end of August.

Company management explains the necessity of such measures by the approaching peak season. At the end of summer, there is traditionally a mass return of Ukrainians from vacations, children's camps, and holidays. To avoid a shortage of tickets and ensure comfort for all those wishing to travel, the carrier is adjusting the schedule and train compositions in advance, responding to current demand.

Demand monitoring and logistics flexibility

"Ukrzaliznytsya" is not limited to just one direction. The company has implemented a system for constant monitoring of demand for various routes. If the analysis shows high occupancy on other lines, the carrier is ready to promptly include additional carriages in the train compositions. Such a flexible approach allows for an immediate response to changes in passenger traffic and guarantees the availability of tickets for citizens.

Alongside the increase in passenger transport, the company is increasing the volume of social and group transport. Statistics from recent days indicate high activity on the railway: during the period from August 10 to 19, almost 900,000 people (exactly 892,610 passengers) used the carrier's services. These data confirm that rail transport remains the key mode of transport in the country.

New services for passenger comfort

As part of the systematic expansion of services, "Ukrzaliznytsya" is introducing innovations aimed at making travel more comfortable and convenient. Recently, a unique book service was launched: now passengers can order book delivery directly to their compartment when purchasing a ticket. The initiative is aimed at supporting domestic publishers and creating a reading atmosphere during long trips.

The carrier is also returning the popular format of service in trains of increased comfort — vending machines with snacks and drinks. This solution allows passengers to quickly quench their hunger or thirst without having to leave the carriage or look for a shop at the station.

Simplifying international trips

For travelers heading abroad, "Ukrzaliznytsya" has simplified bureaucratic procedures. Now, a minor error in the ticket data for an international flight will not be an obstacle to the trip, which reduces stress for passengers and the risk of refusal of boarding. In addition, the carrier has allowed data in tickets to be indicated in both Ukrainian and English, which simplifies interaction with border services and document control.
