On the night of October 21, Russian strike drones carried out a series of attacks on the Cherkasy region, specifically targeting the city of Uman. According to Igor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, the enemy purposefully attacked the Epicentr hypermarket building and private houses. He reported this in his Telegram channel, as cited by RBC-Ukraine. The head of the RMA noted that air raid alerts had been repeatedly issued in the region over the past 24 hours, and the enemy had attempted to attack Uman.

Attack Progress and Authorities' Data

«At night, the Russian Federation directed strike UAVs at the city. We are recording the consequences at several locations. Final data will be available after a thorough inspection,» Taburets emphasized. Thus, at the time of publication, the exact list of damages and the number of casualties remain preliminary: the regional administration promises to update the information after a complete inspection of all drone impact points.

Casualties and Local Consequences

According to the head of the RMA, at least one person was injured as a result of the attack. Medics provided assistance on the spot, as the victim refused hospitalization. One of the strikes hit a private house — the resulting fire, according to authorities, has already been localized and extinguished. At another location, the blast wave damaged a hotel building.

Epicentr Hypermarket Under Fire

The main strike, according to Taburets, hit the Epicentr hypermarket building and the adjacent territory, resulting in a fire. Fire and rescue units worked at the scene to extinguish the blaze during the night hours. The scale of damage to the retail facility will be determined after inspection, as well as for other locations.

Context: Series of Attacks on the Epicentr Chain

The attack on Uman became part of an ongoing series of strikes against Epicentr chain facilities. Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Russia struck Epicentr in the Rivne region, and on October 20, the enemy attacked a hypermarket in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region. Repeated strikes on the same types of objects indicate a targeted enemy tactic recorded in various regions of Ukraine.
