Uman introduces a special entry and movement regime for Rosh Hashanah: what will be banned in the pilgrimage microdistrict

A special regime for entry, exit, and movement will be introduced in Uman on the occasion of the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. This was announced, according to RBC-Ukraine, by Igor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration (RMA), in his Facebook post. According to him, a number of important restrictions will be in effect in the pilgrimage microdistrict, and all the measures adopted are aimed at ensuring the safety of local residents and the city's guests.

Special entry and movement regime

According to the statement by the head of the Cherkasy RMA, during the holiday period in Uman, vehicle entry will be restricted, and an enhanced checkpoint regime is planned. Taburets separately clarified that traffic on the M-05 highway "Kyiv — Odesa" into Uman, on Osliboditeliv Street, will be permitted only for Hasidic pilgrims. Thus, a special procedure related to the checkpoint regime is provided for other categories of road users.

Bans in the pilgrimage microdistrict

In the pilgrimage microdistrict, the sale of a number of goods will be banned, according to the head of the RMA; the full list of restrictions was outlined by Taburets in his post. These measures, like the traffic restrictions, are introduced for the duration of the Rosh Hashanah celebrations and apply specifically to the area of mass gathering of pilgrims.
