Ivan Roman is a veteran from Mykolaiv who, after a severe injury, found himself in a world that had changed beyond recognition. He lost two limbs and nearly all of his vision, and what once required no effort at all turned into a daily ordeal. The entertainment project Styler by RBC-Ukraine (original source) told his story in detail, as well as how he took the stage of the show 'Ukraine Has Talent.' Coming from Mykolaiv, Ivan did not simply tell his story — he came to show the result of two years of hard work, something he once did not believe in himself.
A new reality after the injury
According to the hero, after the injury he faced a completely different life. The future seemed unpredictable, and a return to an active lifestyle seemed impossible. A key role in keeping Ivan from giving up was played by his wife, Larysa. It was the support of his closest person that became one of the main reasons to keep moving forward, even when it seemed that getting back on his feet — both figuratively and literally — was no longer possible.
The path to the bow: two years of training
About two years ago, Ivan discovered archery. At first, he himself did not believe that after such injuries he could take up this sport. However, training gradually grew from cautious attempts into a genuine passion, and then into mastery. This path became his way of rediscovering a sense of strength and self-confidence, recovering what seemed lost forever.
Performance on 'Ukraine Has Talent'
On the show's stage, Ivan performed blindfolded, shooting arrows while seated. His act made the audience ask a simple but important question: how can a person who has nearly lost his sight hit the target? The answer was not improvisation, but the result of systematic work. The performance became public proof that behind every precise shot stand months and years of discipline.
What lies behind the act
Shooting with closed eyes is not a trick for show effect. Behind it stand thousands of hours of training, honed accuracy, body memory, concentration, and enormous self-work. Ivan's story is not about life returning to normal after a severe injury. It changes, but along with that, new goals, new passions, and new victories can appear in it. Ivan has already done what he himself did not believe in, and now he has taken the stage to show this to others.
