An intriguing event has occurred in the mobile technology market: the Redmi 17 4G smartphone has appeared in free sale in Poland long before its official debut. Usually, Xiaomi unveils its new products first on the domestic Chinese market, but this time, the affordable gadget bypassed the traditional presentation procedure and landed directly in European stores.
Display and Performance
The new device is aimed at the mass user for whom screen size and smooth operation are important. The Redmi 17 4G features an impressive 6.9-inch IPS display. The screen resolution is 1600 × 720 pixels, which is typical for the budget segment, but the refresh rate reaches 120 Hz, ensuring pleasant interface animations.
At the heart of the device lies the octa-core MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra processor with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz. The chip is manufactured using a 12-nm process, guaranteeing acceptable energy efficiency for daily tasks.
Memory and Camera
The smartphone is offered to buyers in two memory configurations: 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, or 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
The main camera module is equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. For selfies, there is an 8 MP front camera. Both cameras support video recording in Full HD resolution (1080p) at 30 frames per second.
Battery Life and Package Contents
One of the main advantages of the Redmi 17 4G is the 7500 mAh battery. This energy reserve allows the smartphone to operate autonomously for a long time. The device supports fast charging up to 45 W, however, the power adapter is not included in the package — it must be purchased separately.
Prices and Availability
The device is available in two color options: blue and green. The price of the smartphone in Poland varies depending on the storage capacity: the version with 128 GB is priced at approximately €210, while the model with 256 GB costs €255. Despite the lack of an official presentation, the smartphone is already available for purchase, offering consumers a balance between price and functionality.
