Russian server equipment manufacturer YADRO has launched a new system, the H225 G4, onto the market. This is the first model in the company's lineup capable of operating with two AMD EPYC 9005 Turin series processors or the previous generation EPYC 9004 Genoa. A significant event for the domestic market was the inclusion of the new product in the Unified Register of Russian Radioelectronic Products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This status grants access to procurement for government customers, subjects of critical information infrastructure (CII), and organizations in regulated industries.

Power for Horizontal Scaling

The H225 G4 server is built in a classic 2U form factor and is designed for environments with horizontally scalable applications. Engineers have provided for the installation of high-performance processors with a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 500 W. To ensure high system throughput, 24 slots for DDR5-6400 standard memory modules (RDIMM/3DS-RDIMM) are available, allowing for a configuration with a total volume of up to 6 TB.

Flexible Storage Subsystem

One of the key features of the H225 G4 is the variability in organizing the disk subsystem. Depending on the customer's tasks, the front part of the chassis can accommodate 12 large form-factor (LFF) drives or 8, 16, and 24 small form-factor (SFF) devices. SAS, SATA, and NVMe interfaces are supported. Additionally, the rear of the server provides space for up to four more SFF drives. The system supports the creation of RAID arrays of levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. To protect data in the controller's cache memory in the event of a power failure, the installation of a supercapacitor is optionally offered.

Interfaces and Compatibility

The server offers a wide range of ports for connecting peripherals and management. From the front panel, one USB 3.0 Type-A port and a D-Sub video output are available. The rear panel is equipped with two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a D-Sub interface, an RS-232 serial port, and a dedicated 1GbE RJ45 management network port. To expand functionality, from 4 to 11 PCIe 5.0 slots are provided, including an OCP 3.0 SFF bay. The operating system is loaded from two M.2 (NVMe) system SSDs.

Power is supplied by two power supply units, each with a capacity of 2700 W, holding an 80 PLUS Platinum energy efficiency certification. The device dimensions are 780 × 447 × 87.5 mm, and cooling is implemented via air in an operating temperature range of +10 to +35 °C. YADRO claims full compatibility of the H225 G4 with popular operating systems: Astra Linux, RedOS, Alt Linux, VMware ESXi, Windows Server, RHEL, and SLES.
