Andriy Yarmolenko, captain and leader of Kyiv's Dynamo, publicly commented on the sensational defeat of the capital's club in the 4th round of the Ukrainian Premier League. As Sport RBC.UA reports, citing the player's Instagram page, the "white-and-blues" suffered a crushing 0:3 loss to Chernivtsi's Bukovyna, which became one of the most unexpected results of the current championship. After the match ended, the experienced winger declined to speak with journalists in the mixed zone, but later posted an emotional address to the fans on his social media.
The captain's apology to the stands
In the published text, Yarmolenko addressed the fans directly, acknowledging the weight of the lost match. "I want to apologize to our fans. I am very ashamed of today's game. I understand your disappointment, anger, and pain over such a result... We did not show the character, self-sacrifice, and level that you expect from us. Today we let you down. I'm sorry," the player wrote.
