In Kyiv, where the sky is currently illuminated by powerful lightning strikes, a yellow danger level has been declared. According to forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the capital will be covered by a thunderstorm within the next hour and until the end of the day on August 4. Meteorologists urge city residents to be extremely vigilant and to follow basic safety rules outdoors as weather conditions deteriorate.
Thunderstorm in the capital: safety rules
Specialists recommend avoiding staying under trees and near tall buildings during lightning discharges. In the event of emergency situations or injuries, citizens are strongly advised to immediately contact the relevant emergency services.
Current thunderstorm activity is only a temporary phenomenon in a series of weather anomalies awaiting Ukraine. Meteorologist Nataliya Didenko warns that in the coming days, the country may become one of the hottest in Europe.
Forecast: from thunderstorm to extreme heat
Already on Wednesday, August 5, air temperatures across the country will begin to rise rapidly. Forecasted figures will range from +32°C to +39°C, with the thermometer potentially rising even higher in some regions. No precipitation is expected during this period, which will intensify the overheating effect.
Meteorologists are paying special attention to the situation in the Lviv region. There, air temperatures may reach critical levels of +40...+42°C.
Moderation of weather
A radical change in weather conditions is forecast towards the end of the week. It is expected that from August 7, temperatures will begin to drop in the western part of the country. And already on August 8-9, a fresher air mass will arrive in most regions of Ukraine, bringing long-awaited relief from the heat.
