New step in personnel reshuffles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov the position of Vice Prime Minister for Military Innovations. The head of state made this announcement during a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin.
"Mykhailo is on the team. I offered him several positions, so I won't go into the details of all our meetings: the latest position is Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Military Innovations, and this is very important because there must be coordination of innovations with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, with the Commander-in-Chief of our army, and with the President. All this can and should be done every day," Zelensky emphasized.
Reaction of the former minister and context of the situation
It was previously reported that Zelensky had already offered Fedorov other options for work in government, in particular to move to the position of Vice Prime Minister for Technological Development. However, Fedorov declined, explaining that he did not understand the reasons for his dismissal from the post of Minister of Defense.
According to the former minister, implementing his strategy for containing Russia without the real powers held only by the Ministry of Defense would be impossible. He insisted that effective work requires specific levers of management and control over military resources.

In recent weeks, protests against the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov have continued in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine.
