An important meeting took place in Washington between the Ukrainian delegation and the leadership of one of the key players in the global military-industrial complex. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally discussed the prospects for deepening cooperation with the team from the Lockheed Martin corporation.
A Strategic Defense Partner
Commenting on the results of the negotiations, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the status of Lockheed Martin as one of the strongest enterprises in the United States. Relations between Kyiv and the American giant have existed for a long time, and this company is the manufacturer of critically important weaponry for Ukraine.
The list of products supplied by Lockheed Martin for the defense of Ukrainian territory includes:
- ATACMS missiles;
- HIMARS strike systems;
- F-16 fighter jets;
- Missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
From Procurement to Technology
The main topic of the discussion was not just the continuation of supplies, but a qualitative leap in relations — a transition to joint production and technology exchange. The President noted that Ukraine is ready to share experience and competencies with those who help protect lives.
«Ukraine has something to share with those who help us protect life. We talked about our common capabilities regarding Patriots and other systems», — stated Zelenskyy.
Concrete Steps Already Underway
The parties did not limit themselves to general words about intentions. According to the head of state, the teams of Lockheed Martin and Ukraine are already working on specific solutions. The goal of these efforts is to move as quickly as possible to the stage of joint production, which will significantly increase Ukraine's capabilities in the sphere of protecting lives and sovereignty.
