Ukrainian defense company BlueBird Tech and French investment holding Galion Group have signed a memorandum of understanding. The document paves the way for the localization of Ukrainian developments in Europe and launches a new stage of integration into the European defense ecosystem.

Strategic Partnership for Expansion

According to the terms of the agreement, the parties are combining efforts to find partners in France and EU countries. The key task is to attract investment to defense projects and actively participate in the European Defense Fund (EDF) programs. The partnership is based on synergy: BlueBird Tech provides engineering expertise and ready-made developments, while Galion Group provides access to its extensive network of contacts in the European defense industry.

Localization and Scaling

In a comment to RBC-Ukraine, representatives of BlueBird Tech confirmed that the main goal of the memorandum is to scale international cooperation. The company intends to integrate its technologies into the European security system, focusing on three areas:

  • Search for strategic partners to localize the production of flagship products on the territory of Europe.
  • Development of joint technological projects.
  • Attracting European investments and grants to accelerate the creation of new defense solutions.

Technological Background

The decision to expand its presence in Europe was made against the backdrop of the active development of the company's product line. Previously, BlueBird Tech presented new ultra-light directional antennas of the Yagi-Uda Lite 750 and Yagi-Uda Lite 915 models, designed for strike unmanned aerial vehicles. These developments demonstrate the ability of Ukrainian engineers to create high-tech components in demand in the modern market.

Development of Marine Systems

Parallel to work on drones, the Ukrainian side is expanding capabilities in the maritime sector. The Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) reported on the development of a new system for sea drones. This technology is designed not only to destroy enemy targets but also to detain sanctioned ships in the Black Sea with their subsequent entry into port for confiscation.
