August 12, 2026, marked the day when Ukraine's strategy of "long-range sanctions" received its most massive and technologically complex embodiment. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his report, confirmed the successful conduct of the operation on Novorossiysk, which marked a qualitative leap in the coordination of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For the first time in the history of the conflict, an unprecedented combination of various types of weapons, from heavy missiles to high-precision drones, was deployed within a single night operation.
Weaponry Synchronization: from "Neptune" to UUVs
The key feature of the operation was the coordinated work of heterogeneous strike systems. As the head of state noted, systems such as "Palianytsia," "Peklo," "Bars," and the long-range "Long Neptune" missiles acted simultaneously at a single point of application. This allowed for the creation of a massive strike effect, to which Russian air defense systems were unprepared. In addition, a wide range of unmanned aerial vehicles participated in the attack: MICH, Fire Point, "Ramzay," "Sichen," "Trast," "Kharyok," "Bober," "Liutyi," and "Dovbush." Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that together with the Minister of Defense, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and representatives of the intelligence services, they have already determined priorities for the near future. "We will urge Russia to peace also through the further application of our long-range sanctions and medium-range sanctions," the president emphasized. This indicates that the strike on Novorossiysk is not a one-off action, but part of a long-term strategy to degrade the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation.
